IberLAND. Beyond Property: Law and Land in the Iberian World, 1510–1850

IberLAND is a five-year research project funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant and hosted at Leibniz University Hannover (Germany). It explores the history of land tenure in a long-term and global perspective by focusing on the territories of the former Portuguese and Spanish empires in what has recently been labelled the Iberian world.

On May 21 and 22, two members of the IberLAND team participated in the international seminar "Registration of Rights: History, Comparison, and Current Issues", held at the "La Corrala" Cultural Center of the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Koldo Trapaga Monchet, Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, visited Hannover between May 12th and 15th, 2024.
IberLAND’s PI Manuel Bastias Saavedra participated in the International Symposium on Law in Early Modern European Colonies, which took place at the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies (Vila I Tatti) on April 29-30 in Florence.
