IberLAND. Beyond Property: Law and Land in the Iberian World, 1510–1850

IberLAND is a five-year research project funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant and hosted at Leibniz University Hannover (Germany). It explores the history of land tenure in a long-term and global perspective by focusing on the territories of the former Portuguese and Spanish empires in what has recently been labelled the Iberian world.

The IberLAND project organized and presented several papers in Goa (India), in August 2024.
Researchers of the IberLAND project participated in the The 13th International Convention of Asia Scholars: Crossways of Knowledge, from 28 July to 1 August 2024 in Surabaya (Indonesia).
Our PhD researcher, Sarah Limão Papa, recently participated in the 46th International Wolfenbüttel Summer Course titled "Early Modern Slavery", held at the Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel (Germany), between 8-19 July 2024.
Between July 21st and 27th 2024 our PhD researcher Alina Rodríguez Sánchez attended and presented her current research at the International Seminar of Modern History and Doctoral Workshop of the Vélez Blanco Festival, event which takes its name from the town in southern Spain where every year takes place.
