The project IberLAND participated in ‘Die Nacht, die Wissen schafft’ (The Night That Creates Knowledge) at the Leibniz Universität Hannover on November 8, 2025. As a major public science event designed to give the general public a “look behind the scenes” of the university, it presented an important opportunity to connect with a broader, non-academic audience.
The IberLAND team embraced this format to disseminate its research. Through posters, flyers, and engaging conversations, the team introduced the project’s framework and its case studies on Brazil, Mexico, and Goa to the diverse visitors.

A central element was a hands-on painting activity, where people of all ages could paint motives from the 1580 Mexican map of Teozacoalco using Mexican natural pigments. This interactive approach made complex historical research both accessible and tangible, successfully bringing the project’s work to the wider Hannover community.
