On May 21 and 22, two members of the IberLAND team participated in the international seminar “Registration of Rights: History, Comparison, and Current Issues”, held at the “La Corrala” Cultural Center of the Autonomous University of Madrid.

The project’s principal investigator, Manuel Bastias Saavedra, spoke about ownership and possessory alterity in the Iberian world (Ser dueño y señor. Alteridad dominical y posesoria en el mundo ibérico), while postdoctoral researcher Camilla de Freitas Macedo discussed the beginnings of property registration in Brazil in the mid-19th century (Ley Hipotecaria, Ley de Tierras y Registros Parroquiales: hacia un registro de la propiedad en Brasil (1843-1854)).
